Tribe Receives Economic Planning Grant

The office
of Rep. Denny Rehberg has announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce authorized a $44,000 economic planning grant to be awarded to the
Crow tribe.

Tim Real Bird, the
economic planner with the tribe's Economic Development Office who wrote the grant, said the money will fund his position.

To fulfill the grant's
requirements, Real Bird will travel to reservation
communities to assess economic resources and needs. Shawn Real Bird, the
head of the tribe's Economic Development Office and Tim's brother, said that the money will help his office inform the public
about its work in the area of micro-loans, guaranteed loans and other
programs.

He noted the economic
problems facing the reservation – lack of physical
infrastructure, educational and social programs –  and said,
“Probably the biggest duty of this position is just informing
the public, so the public can be empowered with this information.”

  1. Per Cap is due out April 10. The latest rumor is that it will be $120. As always the amounts are rumored all over the board but this is from a reliable source.

  5. Dear crow nation, I'm a 45yr.old Crow tribe member that thinks all of this stuff that every says that there doing for us is crap!!!! When I was younger, as a kids age, all I wish was to grow up and turn 18 so could get help from the Crow tribe. But all we ever get is nickels and dimes, all of the other indian tribes get a lot of help and big per capita's. The most the crow tribe has done for me is help bury most of my family and I hope that I get to see when the day comes if I'm alive to get some help from are people while I'm still alive. Thank You, Richard Gomes...whitebear...

  6. tim realbird, shawn realbird, and how many other realbirds? submit a and recieve a grant for a position to find out what we already know? 44,000 to go around and be seen in few locations on your way to shooters no doubt, and i suppose a (free) trip to some kind of bullshit "workshop"that is coincidantly the same time as both national finals or did these trips come out of your, I mean our pockets? WHERE are the results of these rodeos (I mean workshops) posted for public veiwing? Because I damn sure can't find them on the internet any where without the secret password. There should be an audit to find out where our money is really spent, if it's not spent in the appropriate areas it should be then it should be payed back just like the IRS does to the native american impared (white people), take all of their shit and auction it off to repay off their dastardly deeds, and at least restore the per cap to where you can afford a candy bar and a lottery ticket, which is about as close to Las Vaegs as most crows will ever get! I better quit now (I'm pissing myself off) I'm still proud to be a Crow, But i'm not proud of the (and I use the term lightly) leaders we have and the bullshit they are doing...

  7. Perhaps Shawn Realbird needs to revisit his lofty Title...Economic Develment Director! He helps the Crow remain without an economy and infrastructure by informing them that they do not have one...he sees that as his job. This is because he does not know how to lead them out of their economic disaster and so he will just tell them and declare that to be his role...really slick! When a person is a failure, they can tell people it is his job to be a failure so he can claim to be successful...sickening. The Crow deserve more. He is a white hustler in mostly indian skin.
